Yang Ming orders five dual-fuel container ships Ship’s crew

Taiwan-based container shipping company Yang Ming has signed a contract with South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries for the delivery of five 15,500 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships, to be delivered in 2026.

The ships will be equipped with a high-pressure LNG dual-fuel main engine and ballast water treatment system to comply with environmental regulations, and will feature advanced integrated systems for navigation information and operational monitoring.

Yang Ming’s current fleet consists of 94 ships with a capacity of around 715,000 TEU, making it the ninth largest liner shipping company in the world according to the Alphaliner rankings. The company said the ships would help streamline its fleet, lower operating costs and reduce carbon emissions while increasing competitiveness.
