UPSIDA allocates Rs 456 cr for industrial zone development

Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has allocated a budget of Rs 456.28 crore for civil and electrical infrastructure development in 93 industrial zones in 46 districts in 2023-24.

An official said this is the first time such a “big budget” has been proposed for upgrading industrial zones. Rs 206.57 crore has been allocated for infrastructure development in Paschimanchal region while Rs 152.29 crore has been allocated to Mandhyanchal, Rs 74.46 crore to Purvanchal and Rs 22.96 crore to Bundelkhand. Also, Rs 25 crore has been approved by the Government under the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission (AIIM) program for UPSIDA industrial zone upgrading in 2022-23.

Rs 302.33 crore will be spent on civil works, Rs 153.95 crore on electrical upgrade
Infrastructure, Rs 183.97 crore for the development and upgrading of roads and drains and Rs 32.63 crore for the development of common facilities in industrial areas. The drainage system will be upgraded at an estimated expense of Rs 21.66 crore while Rs 11.88 crore will be spent on flood control measures.

“It is planned to construct gateways in 17 industrial zones at a cost of Rs 8.63 crore. The water supply, sewage system and common sewage treatment plant will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 18.04 crore.

Rs 18 crore was fined for fire stations in 28 industrial areas. Electrical installations will be upgraded to new energy efficient LED lights and LED high poles at an estimated expense of Rs.50.68 crore. UPSIDA is building a 220/33 kV substation in Trans Ganga City, Unnao at an estimated cost of Rs 85 crore,” the official said.

The agency will also carry out the renovation of office buildings, community facilities and administrative buildings at a cost of Rs 6.25 crore. Facilities such as ramps for the disabled are introduced in these buildings.

UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari said: “Currently, three sites have been identified for the construction of female dormitories, at Sandila in Hardoi, Kosi Kotwan in Mathura and Mussoorie Gulvathi in Hapur. UPSIDA integrates its industrial sector infrastructure data with PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan Portal for multimodal connectivity.”
