The Seafarers Club opened at the JNPA on International Seafarers’ Day Seafarers News

NAVI MUMBAI: Shri Shripad Naik, Honorable Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism inaugurated seafarers club at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), on Sunday on the occasion of International Seafarers Day. International Seafarers’ Day is observed on 25 June with the aim of recognizing and celebrating the extraordinary contribution that seafarers worldwide make to international maritime trade, the world economy and society at large.

Located on JNPA premises, the state-of-the-art club offers seafarers a welcoming and comfortable space. The club will serve as the perfect gateway for maritime professionals during their time ashore. As one of India’s premier ports, JNPA recognizes the invaluable contributions seafarers make to the maritime industry. The Seafarers Club aims to support and enhance the well-being of these hard-working individuals by providing them with a range of amenities and services designed to make their stay at the JNPA even more enjoyable.

Underlines the important role seafarers play in strengthening the country’s economyShri Shripad Yesoo Naik, Honorable Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping, Waterways and Tourism, called, “JNPA has served the maritime industry for 34 years and has made a tremendous contribution to the country’s economy. We should applaud the excellent work it has done to improve the maritime sector. And this Seafarers Club is an example of that. I am pleased that the port has taken note of the seafarers’ problems and problems. The Government is committed to addressing the challenges facing seafarers.”

You are aware that the growth of the shipping industry will contribute to the growth of India, so we should give any help we can to the community. Support from the state government and the municipalities is the order of the day. In addition, all other ports should come forward and work hand-in-hand to improve port facilities, which will bring prosperity to the sector and the country.” added the minister.

in his speech Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Vice Chairman, JNPA, thanked the Union Minister of State for taking advantage of the occasion and said that the club would continue to expand with its state-of-the-art amenities and encouraged all seafarers to make use of the facilities available at the resort.

Shri Ashish Shelar, MLA; Shri Mahesh Baldi, MLA and other maritime sector dignitaries and senior management of the JNPA also attended the event.
