The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) held a three-day workshop on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) disasters at the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) to educate stakeholders on various hazards, including terrorist attacks.
The workshop, which ends on Thursday, trained participants to respond to disasters and also provided operational procedures to follow in the event of a CRBN attack.
“A total of 40 participants from all interest groups took part in the workshop. A panel of experts on CBRN will train participants,” said a port official. The workshop was opened by MPA Chair N Vinodkumar.
The port is conducting such a workshop for the second time.
