Test drive of a freight train on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor

A test run of a loaded electric freight train was successfully conducted between EDFC New Khurja station in Bulandshahr and New Khatauli station in Muzaffarnagar district, officials said on Saturday.

The 59 wagons were loaded with more than five tons of coal. Freight trains traveling to Punjab via the 135 km fully operational line will operate on the DFC line to Khatauli, saving time. “Late Friday afternoon, the train left the Khurja junction and reached the Nabha thermal power station by crossing Khatauli. The train crosses the Delhi-Meerut Expressway on a steel girder bridge,” said Ranvijay Singh, responsible section of DFCC.
