PSA Chennai reaches 10 millionth TEU milestone

PSA Chennai, a subsidiary of PSA International, reached a significant milestone by handling the 10 millionth TEU container in May.

PSA Chennai has reportedly been named Container Terminal of the Year at the South East Cargo and Logistics Awards for several years.

During the ceremony held at the terminal, Gobu Selliaya, CEO of PSA India, commended the entire PSA Chennai team for the momentous achievement.

He congratulated the team and encouraged them to build on that success and continue to serve the industry with an unwavering commitment to the highest standards.

In addition, Deep Kishore Reddy, CEO of PSA Chennai, thanked the stakeholders and the entire team of PSA Chennai for their contribution in reaching this milestone despite the company operating in a challenging environment.

PSA Chennai has outlined its planned strategy to secure its position as the region’s premier container terminal.

This is to be achieved by focusing on the expansion of rail links to connect all major Inland Container Depots (ICDs) from the terminal to attract additional sea line services as well as mass migration from the region and neighboring states. Top Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs).

In January 2021, PSA India broke its volume record for December 2020 with a traffic of 257,347 TEU.
