Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on May 12 and inaugurate projects worth around Rs. 4,4 trillion in Gandhinagar and lay the foundation stone, an official statement said on Thursday.
“Around 10:30 am the Prime Minister will attend the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sangh Adhiveshan in Gandhinagar. After that, he will inaugurate various projects worth around 4400 crores rupees and lay the foundation stone at 12 noon in Gandhinagar,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
Prime Minister Modi will also visit Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
“During the visit, he will check the status of various ongoing projects at GIFT City. There will also be interaction with GIFT IFSC companies to understand their experiences and future plans in GIFT City. The prime minister will also visit the city’s key infrastructure facilities, including the “Underground Utility Tunnel” and the “Automated Waste Sorting Plant,” the official statement said.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi will also hand over the keys of the houses to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) program.
“The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the groundwork for PMAY projects (rural and urban projects) and contribute to Gruh Pravesh for around 19,000 homes built under the scheme. During the program, he hands over the keys to the beneficiaries of the program. The total expenditure of these projects is around 1950 crores rupees,” the press release reads.
“In Gandhinagar, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs. 2450 million. These include projects from the Ministry of Urban Development, the Ministry of Water Supply, the Ministry of Roads and Transport and the Ministry of Mines and Minerals.
The projects inaugurated include the expansion of drinking water supply systems for several villages in Banaskantha district, a river bridge in Ahmedabad, a drainage collection network in Naroda GIDC, sewage treatment plants in Mehsana and Ahmedabad, and an auditorium in Dahegam. Projects to be laid include major pipeline projects in Junagadh district, expansion of water supply systems in Gandhinagar district, construction of flyover bridges, a new water distribution station and various urban planning roads, among others, the official statement said.
