MSC expands intra-Asia service network

MSC has decided to strengthen its intra-Asia network to provide new direct connections as well as improved transit times and increased capacity.

The following updated services will take effect in June 2023.

MSC announced it would upgrade its Seagull service to connect central China directly to Indonesia, and Vietnam and Thailand to Shekou.

In addition, MSC’s Seahorse service offers a direct connection from Central China to Thailand and Malaysia, while the Dolphin service connects North China directly to Malaysia and Indonesia, and Southeast Asia to Korea and North China.

In addition, MSC said its Pertiwi service will improve capacity with an additional call at Da Chan Bay, while its Kaguya service will connect central China with major Vietnamese ports. The upgraded Kaguya service will also connect Vietnam and Thailand directly to the Philippines in six days, providing additional coverage from the Philippines to Japan.

In addition, the Swiss-Italian shipping company will add a new direct call from southern China and Vietnam to Penang and Pasir Gudang on the Orchid service, while its Bengal service will offer a new direct connection to the port of Belawan in Indonesia.

Last but not least, MSC’s Burma service will offer a new direct connection to Belawan, while Golden Horn will include a direct call at the Port of Hakata in Japan.
