Merck Lifescience enters into a strategic agreement with LP Logiscience to introduce electric vehicles for transportation

Merck Lifescience recently signed a strategic agreement with LP Logiscience, the warehousing and contract logistics arm of the legendary Liladhar Passo Group, which launched its first commercial electric vehicle. Under the terms of the agreement, LP Logiscience will use the electric vehicles to distribute finished goods from its Rasayani factory to Merck Lifescience customers across Mumbai. The contract is part of Merck’s and LP Logiscience’s commitment to achieve common sustainability goals and move towards carbon neutral distribution services.

In addition, LP Logiscience has also invested in research to integrate on-board photovoltaic cells into the electric vehicles, allowing them to charge during the hours of sunshine on the move, increasing the vehicle’s overall efficiency and reducing the need for grid-assisted charging, bringing them closer to a CO2-neutral transport system.
