Louis Dreyfus Armateurs JV orders hybrid-capable crew transfer vessel from Strategic Marine Ship’s crew

Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) and its joint venture partner Tidal Transit have commissioned Singapore-based shipbuilder Strategic Marine to build a hybrid-capable crew transfer vessel to expand their fleet servicing offshore wind farms in France.

France-based LD Tide currently owns and manages a fleet of three CTVs to transport technicians to the 480MW Saint-Nazaire wind farm off the French coast.

The order for the so-called StratCat 27 designed by BMT is the first that the company has placed for the construction of a ship at a non-French shipyard. After delivery, the unit will be used by wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa for the operation and maintenance of the 497 MW offshore wind farm Fécamp
