India’s GAIL is looking for LNG cargo for May delivery to Dhamra terminal

According to two industry sources, GAIL (India) has issued an exchange tender offering a liquefied natural US cargo in exchange for another cargo for delivery to India.

The cargo is sought by India’s largest gas distributor for Delivery Ex Ship (DES) at Dhamra ter. According to the sources, it is offering the cargo for May loading from the Sabine Pass terminal, which will also close on April 13.

Adani Total, in which TotalEnergies has a 50% stake, has a 20-year take-or-pay contract with government regasification services for 3 million tonnes of LNG per year at the Dhamra terminal. GAIL has a comparison year.

The terminal received its first LNG cargo on April 1, according to Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and LinkedIn Post. IOC issued a tender for the delivery of eight LNG cargoes to the Dhamra term in March. GAIL has 20-year contracts to purchase 5.8 million tons per year of US LNG split across Dominion Energy’s CSabine Pass site in Louisiana.
