India Post partners with Shiprocket to support startups and MSMEs

India Post, the government-run postal service, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with logistics aggregator firms Shiprocket and Pickrr to help MSMEs and improve last-mile e-commerce delivery services across the country.

The partnership will provide e-commerce market players with last-mile connectivity and facilitate the penetration of e-commerce services beyond major cities and communities, said Saahil Goel, co-founder and CEO of Shiprocket.

The collaboration will also enable automated shipping and faster delivery for merchants, leading to cost efficiencies and business growth.

India Post announced the integration of their IT systems with Shiprocket. The integration has been achieved through various APIs including tariff, booking, label creation, pickup and shipment tracking.

“This partnership between India Post and Shiprocket will provide last mile shipping and delivery services to Shiprocket’s three lakh seller base, which includes startups and a large number of small and medium sized businesses. The MoU represents a significant milestone in taking e-commerce to the last mile and is expected to benefit millions of customers across the country,” read a statement from India Post announcing the MoU.
