India Post investigates PVT sector to improve supply chain management

The government is considering involving private actors to optimize the route of the Indian postal network.

The Postal Department of the Ministry of Communications is examining the route optimization of their network.

It is known that the PPP (Public Private Partnership) option for the project is currently being discussed and some agreements have been made to improve the order processing.

A lion’s share of India Post’s revenue comes from parcel shipping, and that’s what the company wants to optimize, as that’s where they want to maximize revenue, according to experts.

Many postal companies around the world are busy optimizing their route network, driver management, etc. It is known that the government has developed a framework for this BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) module. They have also solicited comments on the public assessment and the government has proposed a 30-year moratorium on building the assets and then returning them to the railways.

One such partnership is with NimbusPost, which has signed an initial agreement with India Post to offer e-commerce sellers and buyers a seamless shipping experience.
“With this partnership, we aim to expand our nationwide reach by leveraging India Post’s most extensive and robust courier network. We look forward to adding value to the Indian e-commerce and shipping industry through this promising collaboration,” said Yash Jain, Founder and CEO of NimbusPost.

Following the partnership, NimbusPost will integrate its platform with India Post’s APIs to offer end-to-end shipping solutions, including collection, packing and delivery services. The collaboration will also allow e-commerce sellers to track their shipments in real-time and receive notifications at every stage of the shipping process.

We’re excited to partner with NimbusPost to offer e-commerce sellers and buyers a seamless shipping experience. Our extensive network and infrastructure combined with NimbusPost’s technology and expertise will enable us to offer our customers efficient and reliable shipping solutions,” said India Post.
