ICD Bhilwara resumes operations after 13 years, Hub & Links moves first container

Operations of the ICD (Inland Container Depot) at Bhilwara resumed on 22 July 23 after a 13 year hiatus. In Bhilwara, the ICD was founded 34 years ago, in 1989, but closed in 2010 due to lack of business.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Saturday 22nd July at Bhilwara’s Azad Nagar. Shakuntala Rawat, Minister of Industry and Trade, was the main guest on the occasion. Guests of honor were Ramlal Jatt and Rajeev Arora.

During the event, the dignitaries flagged the containers of Hub & Links Logistics India Pvt. Ltd., a leading NVOCC and liner agent based in Mumbai with offices across India.

An additional ICD will also be set up in Tanavada village near Salawas railway station in Jodhpur, where about 10,000 people will receive direct and indirect job opportunities, Rajsico Chairman Rajeev Arora said. Arora said, “The new inland container depots being built in Rajasthan will increase import and export momentum.”

Export infrastructure services in the state are provided by Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation (RAJSICO) through Inland Container Depots (ICD) in Jaipur and Jodhpur. Currently only import and export facilities in Jodhpur and Jaipur are routed through ICD. In addition, the import and export facilities are provided by air via the air cargo complex at Sanganer Airport in Jaipur.
