Hapag-Lloyd announces a new General Rate Adjustment (GRA) from the Middle East to the United States for cargo carried in 20ft and 40ft dry, refrigerated and specialty containers, including high -Cube equipment being transported.
The new rate increase will apply to all containers that will be fully closed from March 29, 2023 and will apply until further notice, according to the German carrier.
The GRI is $450 per 20ft dry container and $500 per 40ft dry container. In addition, there will be an increase of US$500/carton for 40ft high cube containers.
Hapag-Lloyd said it will also introduce a GRI of $450 per 20ft reefer container and $500 per 40ft reefer box.
In addition, there is an increase of US$450/crate for 20ft special containers and an increase of US$500/crate for 40ft special containers.
The geographic scope of this increase ranges from the Middle East, namely India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka, to all coasts of the United States.
