Goa International Airport is to handle cargo operations

Goa Prime Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday gave assurances that cargo operations at Manohar International Airport in Mopa in the state would soon begin.

“We will soon begin handling cargo operations at Manohar International Airport in Mopa. “It will help the pharmaceutical industry to transport their products,” he said while addressing the coastal state’s industrialists here.

He said every effort will be made to facilitate business transactions and provide facilities to the industrial zone.

“Connectivity has improved under the transport of the Narendra Modi government. Infrastructure was provided everywhere. Many new airports are being built and Goa has also benefited from a new airport in Mopa,” said Sawant.

There are many industrial areas in Goa where the big pharmaceutical companies operate and have depended on other states to transport their products. However, once cargo handling begins at Mopa Airport, they will benefit from the service.
