DP World Antwerp implements new fingerscan technology

Registered truck drivers in particular can now pick up their containers using their fingerprints.

In addition, DP World, in collaboration with NxtPort, the Port of Antwerp-Bruges digital platform, has tested the Certified Pick up (CPu) software with Belgian logistics companies Katoen Natie and Van Moer at their Antwerp Gateway terminal.

CPu registers and verifies truck drivers via Alfapass on NxtPort and allows them to pick up containers at the DP World terminal if their fingerprints are matched to their container via Alfapass.

The first boxes were successfully picked up by CPU last week.

“The success of our pilot project with Van Moer and Katoen Natie is the first step towards further rollout of CPu with all stakeholders and for all modes of transport in 2023,” commented Dirk Van den Bosch, CEO of DP World in Antwerp.
