Deendayal Port Authority wins Quality Mark Award

The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, won the 12th edition of the Quality Mark Awards 2023 in the category “Pioneer Industry – Maritime Services” in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Shantanu Thakur, Honorable Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways presented the award to Nandeesh Shukla, IRTS, Dy. Chairman-DPA and YKSingh, Sr. Dy. Secretary, DPA. The award ceremony was attended by many bureaucrats and the government. Officials along with popular actor Gulshan Grove and other celebrities.

DPA management thanked all port users, stakeholders, unions, employees and workers for their support and cooperation in obtaining this prestigious award.

DPA is India’s largest major port in terms of throughput. The port broke its own record by handling 137.56 million tonnes in 2022-23 compared to 127.10 million tonnes in 2021-22, a growth of 8.23%. This enabled the port to maintain its ‘Numero Uno’ position in terms of volumes handled for the 16th yearth year in a row.
