Commemorating the arrival of the first ship in the port of Kochi

Cochin Port Day is celebrated here on May 26, commemorating the arrival of the first ship in the port of Kochi. the first ship SS Padma, entered Kochi Inner Harbor on 26 May 1928 through the widened and deepened Cochin Canal. The celebrations will take place at 1.30pm that day at Samudrika Hall, North End, Willingdon Island, according to a press release here. Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, will be the main guest at the event. He will address the gathering virtually. M. Beena, Chairman, Cochin Port Authority; Jaideep P., Customs Commissioner; Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Naval Officer in Charge (Kerala) and Vikas Narwal, Vice Chairman of Cochin Port Authority will be present.
