CMA CGM adds Indian subcontinent to Mersin congestion surcharge destinations

CMA CGM has announced a port congestion charge from Mersin, Turkey to the Indian subcontinent due to recent delays in the Turkish port.

Following the announcement of CMA CGM’s congestion charge of US$100 per dry container for each box shipment from Mersin, Turkey to multiple destinations worldwide, the French shipping company added the Indian subcontinent to the “destination surcharge pool”.

“We are experiencing significant delays in Mersin, Turkey, between congestion/wait times and layover times for the ships’ current docking sequences,” CMA CGM noted in a statement.

Indian Subcontinent has now been added to Western and Eastern Mediterranean, Adriatic Sea, Black Sea, North Africa, Morocco, Portugal, West Coast and East Coast of South America, East Coast of Central America and Caribbean, West Coast of Central America and Mexico’s West Coast, Windward, Guyana North Brazil, Gulf of the Middle East, Red Sea , Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, China and Hong Kong SAR.
