Citroen India signs MoU with Kamarajar Port to start exporting new C3

Citroën India, part of the Stellantis Group, announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kamarajar Port Ltd (KPL) to begin its export program from India. PAIPL, the Indian subsidiary of Citroën India, will export the Indian-made “New C3” B-Hatch vehicles to countries in ASEAN and Africa. Exports of the vehicle will begin in March 2023 as CBUs.

Announcing the MoU, Roland Bouchara, CEO & MD, Stellantis India said, “This partnership with Kamarajar Port Ltd (KPL) reinforces the ‘India for the World’ philosophy of the Stellantis Group, which will capitalize on India’s strong manufacturing export potential. In 2019 we started exporting powertrains from our Hosur facility and with the start of the new C3 exports as CBU this year we mark an important milestone on our journey to India. We have created a 360 degree ecosystem that brings strong results for the group and we will continue to build on this in the future. ”

Guy Lederer, Head-Supply Chain & Logistics for India, Asia Pacific, Stellantis, says: “Kamarajar Port meets all Citroën’s requirements to export vehicles from India as part of its internationalization strategy. Kamarajar Port, a port of significant importance in India’s maritime logistics ecosystem, will be used for the export of Indian-made Citroën vehicles from the smart car platform to the world. We look forward to a cooperative and successful working relationship with KPL in order to achieve the highest level of on-time delivery at competitive costs.”

Mr Sunil Paliwal, IAS, CMD, Kamarajar Port Limited, says: “We are delighted to enter into an agreement with PCA Automobiles to offer our port services for the export of Citroen branded vehicles to countries in ASEAN and Africa. Cooperation with PCA Automobiles will help us to expand our export activities. We hope to make this collaboration a success and contribute to the Indian economy.”
