After the withdrawal of Hamburg Süd, Swire Shipping will operate the USWC South Pacific service alone

Swire Shipping will become the sole operator of its US West Coast South Pacific service after its partner Hamburg Süd withdrew from the circuit in June 2023.

The Company will begin single operation of the service on June 16 when its chartered vessel, the 1,700 TEU Mount Cameron, is scheduled to depart from Long Beach, California, USA. In the second half of June, Swire Shipping will deploy a second vessel to replace Hamburg Sud’s 1,304 TEU Cap Salia.

The US West Coast South Pacific service calls at Long Beach, Oakland, Papeete, Apia, Pago Pago and Long Beach with a turnaround time of 38 days.

Hamburg Süd, whose brand name will be combined under the Maersk name in future, has been operating the service with Swire Shipping since February 2000.
